We all are probably aware of premature ejaculation, However, far fewer people are aware of delayed ejaculation. Delayed ejaculation is usually treatable. Treatment for delayed ejaculation has an average success rate of 70 to 80 percent.

What is the meaning of Delayed Ejaculation?

Delayed ejaculation is a disorder in which achieving orgasm and ejaculation is impossible or requires prolonged sexual stimulation. Most men can have an orgasm and ejaculate within 2-7minutes of starting intercourse.

Men with delayed ejaculation may take much time to reach orgasm and ejaculate. For some men, the process takes up to 45 minutes. Although there is no exact time used to define delayed ejaculation, most experts believe that the 30-minute range indicates when a man is delaying ejaculation.

In addition to taking more time to orgasm and ejaculate, men with delayed ejaculation may have difficulty orgasm and ejaculation. In some cases, men with delayed ejaculation may not experience orgasm or ejaculation at all, even with significant sexual stimulation. Others are only able to achieve orgasm and ejaculation through alternative sexual acts such as masturbation.

Delayed ejaculation is also known as ejaculation disorder. While longer sex may seem like a good thing, the reality is that delayed ejaculation can cause stress, frustration, and discomfort for both the affected man and his partner. If sex takes a long time, it can become physically uncomfortable.

What are the symptoms of Delayed Ejaculation?

Delayed ejaculation can cause various symptoms. You may have delayed ejaculation if:

  • You need 30 minutes or more of sexual stimulation to ejaculate. You may find it difficult to reach orgasm and ejaculate within a reasonable amount of time during sex or masturbation with a partner.
  • You find ejaculation difficult or even impossible. Commonly known as anejaculation, you may find it difficult to ejaculate after being sexually stimulated.
  • You can only ejaculate while masturbating. Some men with delayed ejaculation may have difficulty with orgasm and ejaculation during intercourse, but they may normally achieve orgasm and ejaculation while masturbating.
  • You need to take or take a break from sexual activity because of your symptoms. You may experience fatigue during intercourse due to tension.
  • Feeling restless or irritated. You and/or your partner may feel frustrated, irritable, tense, or unhappy about not being able to reach orgasm and ejaculate. It may even cause relationship problems or tension in your sex life.

What are the types of Delayed Ejaculation?

most experts classify delayed ejaculation into the following two categories:

  • Primary: Delayed ejaculation for life: This form of delayed ejaculation occurs with the onset of puberty. Men with lifelong delayed ejaculation may have always had a hard time achieving orgasm and ejaculation.
  • Secondary: Acquired delayed ejaculation: This form of delayed ejaculation occurs sometime after orgasm and normal ejaculation.

In addition to being primary or secondary, delayed ejaculation is often classified as either generalized or situational:

  • Generalized delayed ejaculation: Men with generalized delayed ejaculation experience symptoms with all sexual partners and types of sexual stimulation.
  • Situational delayed ejaculation: Men with situational delayed ejaculation may find it difficult to reach orgasm and may only ejaculate in certain situations, such as certain sexual pleasure or a certain type of sexual stimulation.
